This is likely to be a psychological problem, may be even a case of "old habits die hard". It shouldn't be a surprise anyone if this guy was the culprit in the disappearance of pens in class during his school days, it would only need to search for his former classmates and jog their memory and it would point to now Mr. PresidentSad .
