The one where the mother is lying on the floor dead and the child on the seat still pains me. It could have been me, you or your sister.... when will that child get justice? May be she is in a home or in the streets for reasons not his own and the perpetrators are still out there!

This was in Naivasha - the so called revenge attack....

Very very sad indeed. Nevertheless, @proverb, what do u think stopped the violence? I love history n let the truth/facts be stated. I have realized the truth can at times be very painful. The kyuks having being heavily pounded for 25 days, a 6 day retaliation suddenly ended the ugly 30 days war, n peace was born somewhat. True or false? My view is, the conflict might have dragged on much longer. Its at this point that RAO appeared to sober up, realized that pple are dying (his own, sad) n called for immediate ceasefire!! (I aint justifying anything, just stating a possible fact, n I take cognizance of the unfortunate n completely unnecessary loss of innocent lives on both sides).

I find the last picture the most upsetting. The one where the managers of the country are sharing a cup of tea in suits.

I was going to post here, but I will reserve my comments. I however believe that @Simon has a point in the way he sees the situation.

My hope is that we will never again go that way of violence against each other. If we do, both sides will probably be more prepared and this might be a BIG one.

Look at the heat at the moment, exactly as was in 2007. Let us be very wary of these politicians we have. They are the very face of evil!!

that is the way it is and will always be, those who take over power are never the ones that get hurt. They call out their armies and hide in the bunkers (Ggabo styleApplause ) to 'lay strategies'
I care!

Why do guys seat on their brains sometimes....

@simonkabz.. can you get your facts right

"a 6 day retaliation suddenly ended the ugly 30 days war, n peace was born somewhat"
Honestly theres something totally wrong with some Kenyans brains..

After the retaliation there were new shipments and recruitments being done.
Ever heard of the Isiolo Consignment that nobody talks about anymore? Its still there... lying somewhere waiting...

The war was moving a notch higher from bows pangas and arrows to Guns and Grenades..

Here you are confirming there were retaliation and in other threads you 'defend' the Chief Planner against Ocampo..

Fact: RAO used the violence to get some foot hold for a bargaining ground. Otherwise he'd be languishing at the Hague or worse Kenyan Prison..

Fact: somebody was used by RAO & his fellow kinsmen and later dumped by both..Very stupid but SAD!!!

Fact: Retaliation or not somebody planned the them.. a violation of human rights.

Fact:The military chiefs intervened and told the two.."Sort this one out or we do. Otherwise the some junior officer would have started something ugly"

fact: the Al Qaedas and Al Shabaabs were seeing a good operating ground while the West saw its strategic position and investments threatened.

I sometimes jump in defence of the poor class.. but the Kenyan middle class.. Woi ngai fafa!!!!

I hope I was as hopeful as you.I still see the same political atmosphere starting to coagulate. This tribe uniting against that tribe In the false promise of uniting the country.

How do you unite a country by attacking a leader of a certain community or locking out certain communities from your party hierarchy.

As long as we have parties formed on the basis of tribal strength as opposed to common values then be sure a repeat of what happened in 2007 is bound to happen.

I think what @simonkabz is saying is what is happening in Libya. Bombing citizens who are considered loyal to Gaddaffi to assist citizens who are rebels to seize power only that this time it's america and Nato involved. Violence begets violence.
