CMC ended their financial year on 30th sept last year. Until now they are yet to announce their results. What is cooking over there or the directors & auditors are still on christmas break?

I do not expect fantastic results from CMC but nothing to warrant a profit warning. I think it is speculative stock at current prices

I believe it is too risky to invest in motor companies.
If you are speculating on this counter, best of luck.

Forget about CMC...at the core of their business they are selling a product with ZERO demand..new cars...(as well as a highly-optional service..car servicing).
Who in Kenya buys new cars? Who services their cars at dealers unless they ABSOLUTELY must / they're company maintained, or they are about to sell them?
PS:
My friends have worked in a couple of banks, which tend to be some of the best payers for employed folk and even senior management import 2-3 year old vehicles!

guess what ,the gov't need to encourage kenyans to purchase new cars by giving incentives,an old Harriers costs 2.3 million whereas a new one cost 1.8 million
a new car is better any time

I am bullish for this counter in the short term. if the market corrected lst year,CMC did not. Either good results or the BOD reward us with a bonus.my reasons for speculating this counter.any seconders?

@gesowan...are you saying a new harrier in kenya costs 1.8m? That's an absolute surprise to me! Although I'm not necessarily shopping around for high-end 4x4s, so it's more than likely that I wouldn't know about this kind of stuff anyway.
