@bartum why dont you check with the brokers? i believe you could easily clinch a deal.

@TUPAC. Gud advice. I'll try ex-dividend. Is it SUNTRA, KINGDOM and AA who do OTC for CIC?

@bartum you are right. havent bought any from them but i understand they are the ones who deal with them.
when does it go ex-div? and is anyone aware of how much the dividend will be?

There is a huge demand for CIC and no supply at all. I have tried Suntra for the past one month and given up. This is so especially after they posted good FY results (reported in N. Papers).

@Layman. Thanks for the info, I never got the IM. It looks they had just a few copies. I think they should pay good dividends given the stellar profits.

This company must be poor in communication, the shareholders are always asking questions. Id buy into it though

I think for along time CIC was used to dealing with Saccos. It was a lot easier to communicate with few sacco officials; they now have to revamp their Corporate Communications department to deal with us, ordinary shareholders.

@PKoli, you appear to be the most knowledgeable/active Wazuan regarding matters CIC. Could you kindly post for us the salient figures/ratios for CIC? This will enable us make an objective valuation of CIC versus the listed insurance companies.

I have in mind the NAV; EPS; Div Yield; growth rates in Net Premium income, Investment Income (if possible give a breakdown between realised gains and those attributed to gains in fair value on financial assets through P&L) and the overall growth in profitability. Kindly use the number of shares issued (post the rights issue assuming all those who asked for extra shares are alloted). This will provide a good view of the effect of the anticipated dilution.

Thanks is advance.

@Mwanahisa,

I will be glad to do so if I get the annual accounts. I will not get those figures without the annual accounts. I hope they release before end of the month. As you are aware, the newspapers only quoted the gross premium and net profit.

When it lists inaonekana guys will become multi-millionaires just like when Coop listed. Maybe Gideon Muriuki even got himself a couple of million;-) It wouldn't be the first time he's done that.

Sori pals, I have been offline, since I am in the village on vacation. I have looked at the CIC announcements: A few thoughts:

1. Creation of the extra 90 Million shares. Remeber we currently have 60 Million issued shares not all fully paid for but those not paid for are few. we will have a total share of 150M. These had par value of KES 20.
2. Increasing the share capital to 3b, with par value of KES 1, this implies a split of 20 for every one.
3. Listing on the NSE.
4. Ensuring that the shareholding of the Coop movement does not fall below 60%.

The last item is important because it obviously dictate how many of the 90M times 20 will be listed. To satisfy condition 4, I think the company will most likely issue part of the 90 M shares as bonus to existing sharehplders.

Impact of this is that we will have less free float hence the share price is unlikely to get a big hit.

Should the listing be done this year, I am sure HY results will determine the offer price. In the Newspapers, they said the annual accounts will be uploaded to their website after tomorrow. We will then analyse the numbers.

My recommendation for the share is a good buy.

@TUPAC,

I think the bonus is more likely since a rights was offered recently.

There is a likelyhood of IPO CFC would want to raise some additional funds. I guess that is why they created an additional 90M shares.

I am sure we will get more details as we approach the AGM or during the AGM.

Recently I have not inquired about its availability on the OTC, but historically it has been a scarse stock. The last time, there were offers for about KES 50 a piece. Talk to Coop Bank, AAKS and Suntra. They are dealing in OTC. Good luck
