you reminded me of a secluded region in former R.V where some not very lucky guys for a couple of weeks were being forced to shout... left! right! left! right! left! right! kamneiz halt!! check! one, two!!! from morning till evening with a brief lunch break...it was indeed a tough job that was only meant for a few choosen ones...me included...

could you be farmiliar with these heavenly hells???...i read that you know "skiving"...typical language...

just curious...smile smile

...Yes...those days at R.V. Reminds me of a guy standing at attention next me be shout at..'Kijana toa hio chpa kwa mfuko, inaaribu dressing. Then the Kijana answers,'Afande, hii sio chupa ni kuwakawaka nimewaka' We all went down in laughter and that meant 20 push ups there and then... Them days...

There was this Turkana lady who had spent a night out with a comrade.Midday the following day,she turns up at the commander's office and asks to see Kariuki.Guy was out on some sentry assignment and the boss asked the lady if he would be of any help....The lady says,"Nimerudisha mali ya serikali" while placing some wrapped items on the table. On openning it,Afande found two used condoms.
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

there was this wafande with mawe tatu who stopped a kurutu because the kurutu was not shouting left! right! loud enough...the kurutu ignored...and the wafade shouted at him...wewe kurutu huoni niko na mawe ngapi!!! the kurutu answered...afande, unajua tumeona mawe mengi hata kwa ndengu....

a quarter of that plateful of ndengu meals was pure gravel (stones)and we ate them....

@Kaigangio/magigi..........I will never forget what transpired during the final rehearsals kwa uwanja wa tarmac after the arrival of airports from the other part of R.V.

Remember afande solomon declaring...."Sasa kina dada watafungua minguu(stand attention) halafu wanaume waende raundi moja moja"

@ mwenza,

if i ever meet that guy (kofa)face to face i will just kill him right there and then...for the anguish and pain that he took me through in a two hour rendezvous...with his "huu uwanja (drill ground) ni gazzetted" phenomenon...

There was another one called Githinji aka Yellowman, thats the one I will kill if we ever met..........He used to make me "mea" almost daily because my face(after shaving) was never as smooth as k@#$ ya mtoto.

You are either too old or too young... Which is it?

...And when the ladies joined us, Afande Tuju could be heard shouting to the women...'Inua mguu GK (Government of Kenya) ionekane' The ngothas given to women had GK inscribed where the airport is located (don't ask me how I found out but just a small leakage, a certain short kamkamba guy kulaad 50 bob to arrange!!!).

@ mwenza/magigi,

were you ever ordered to go out and water the flowers during a heavy downpour?

kungaa (polishing and shining)boots from 9.00pm upto 2.00am in the morning...and then at 2.30 or 3.00am we go for 5BX to cover 15km every day?

remember also the meals and daily activities that made us go for long calls only once or twice a week...

nothing was impossible here..

....Having been ordered to do 40 push ups for hiding in the tolet during 5BX, I could only manage 20 good ones. The rest I was just moving my arse up and down. The Afande looked at me and said,' Sioni vile kutoXXX mchanga itakusaidia...na ukimaliza usafishe hio nyasi...My!!!
