my advice to anyone, don't bother wasting your hard earned 35k on the s7. if you really need a tablet you are better off saving up more and buying the galaxy tab or the ipad(2 will be available sometime soon). here's why;
the battery life is just awful.one hardly gets 2.5 hours on the s7. to make matters worse it has a USB port but you can't charge using it and one is forced to lug the charger around.
it uses android 2.1....really??? this is akin to HP unleashing a laptop today preloaded with windows 98. Google is about to launch android 3.0 codenamed gingerbread which is rumoured to be built especially for tablets. why take us 2 steps back. Hapana!
it has a resistive touchscreen instead of a capacititive screen. a capacititive screen is much more responsive to touch as compared to a resistive screen. the s7 even has a stylus pen inserted somewhere at the back. woi!
the price is just ridiculous. in markets where this device has already debuted, the device is selling at 279$. even at an exchange rate of 85 Bob this comes to 23,715kshs. how does safaricom 2.0 come up with the price of 35000 kshs? this' a ripoff! Ama BC intends to plug the call revenues deficit hole with overpriced gadgets?
caveat emptor- if you really need a tab, either save up more and get yourself the real thing(there are many-ipad, galaxy tab, xoom e.t.c) or wait for a fire sale as scom is wont to do every so often and get one at a bargain.
It is a curious fact that of all the illusions that beset mankind, none is quite as curious as that tendency to suppose that we are mentally and morally superior to those who differ from us in opinion.

I read Alai's rant on this tablet, and even though he tore into the gadget as if it had abused his mother, he was spot on. It's crap.

However, I just don't see the market for tablets in the third world. Tabs are essentially for media consumption. I don't see too many Kenyans spending above 30k just so they can optimize their net experience
