And still on this tourist syndrome, the dressing. Some imagine its summer everywhere, and that beach wear can be worn anywhere.
Another one turned up for a family function (of course held in their honour) almost dressed. Problem was this was the village. My family members are wonderfully tolerant and of course everyone else was too polite to say anything and quick to make excuses for them, but still.......

I wished they had flown in when it was winter over there. Why is it that the rest of us bother to find out what dress code is appropriate for different places, times...

oh and i forgot to add that inflight attendants (since they are also from the diaspora) also refuse to speak in kiswahili even when they are speaking to elderly people who do not understand /are not comfy conversing in english.......annoying!

Thats soo true...I experienced this once .Having had crazy flight connections,I was only too happy to finally board KQ in Cairo for Nbi.And guess what..I happily greeted the KQ attendants(two ladies) in Swahili but they simply shrugged and ignored my greetings.I found it rather strange...

Sanity, Famooz...not always. At least av chatted flight attendants in mother tongue severally (them initiating it once they see my name on boarding tag)
