Since the nuclear reactor at Fukishima erupted after the tsunami, there have been reports that the damaged reactors has been emitting radioactive materials/particles with high level radiation into the environment, particularly radioactive iodine and cesium. This has necessitated the evacuation of all people from a 20km radius of the plant and the banning of consumption of food grown within a 100km radius. Radioactive particles have even been detected in Tokyo which is 210km away. Radioactive iodine lasts in the environment for 2 months while cesium can take over 100yrs to decay. As the radioactive material decays, it releases energy that can kill cells or cause mutations or cancer. (http://www.myhealthnewsdaily.co...ear-reactor-cancer-1270/)

Now that radioactive particles can also be deposited on and contaminate any object, some governments such as China and Taiwan have put in place urgent measures to test all Japanese imports, including all electronics, toys, furniture etc for radiation contamination. (The China Post: Gov't to step up radiation checks on Japan goods) Nissan America is also testing cars imported from Japan for contamination. (Nissan America To Screen Japan-Imported Cars For Radiation)

There is a very real danger that imports into Kenya from Japan could also be contaminated, including the popular mtumba cars. The govt should test these imports to prevent Kenyans being exposed to radiation. I think its KEBS that's mandated to test imports for radioactive radiation. Otherwise Kenyans will be 'dying slowly/developing cancers' while driving their newly imported toyotas etc which are contaminated by these invisible radioactive particles.
Fears of radiation could impede Japan’s exports

Was thinking about this exactly today. Scary.... So what happens if you find your car is contaminated? Any solutions for that?
Form is temporary, class is permanent

safe solution is not to import from japan for now. Know of any other car markets with comparable quality of cars?
The only time you should be looking down on others is when you are helping them up.
