Habari Wazuans,

I have a question. Does anyone have any information on operating a baby clothes and accesories business?

The information i need is :

1. Has anyone operated this kind of business in Kenya; what are the pros and cons?

2. Do we have any of these businesses currently being run in Nairobi or even the other major towns? Which ones are they? I would like to visit them and see for myself.

As a start you may visit biashara street. Quite a number of shops specializing in baby accesories. I have no idea on the sourcing aspect but the prices seem to be better than most supermarkets and the selection is much much wider. The Asians are quite friendly too.

Q.2 Biashara street,Garissa Lodge. I have also seen those imported baby clothes sold at biashara street in shops in nakuru town retailing at the same price

If you are targeting school going up market kids ( I wonder if these are babies) think of clothes bags and accessories with cartoons and stuff such as bratz, camp rock, high school musical, Ben 10, princess, spiderman, bob the builder, thomas and friends etc..... the kids love and identify with these.

i have an idea, if you are looking for a shop in tao to sell baby clothes i suggest taveta road shopping malls coz thats where people stock women clothes, but you wont find a single baby shop. Last year i was shopping for ma infant baby clothes there i dint find any n resorted to b.street. Also its not hard to get a store there then do some advertising good luck.
