Hi Wazuans,
I hope you are doing fine.First I would like to congratulate you for keeping peace during the just concluded referendum. You did proud to our country regardless on which side of the divide you supported.

Secondly I would like to inform you that the Skcharity club is still live and active though alot goes on behind the scenes in the Charity googlegroups since members like to preserve their privacy.More Wazuans are joining this initiative.

I would like to thank Wazua administration for the support they have given to the initiative both in cash and kind.I'm would specifically like to thank them for the Kshs.3,500 they topped up to a member's contribution of same amount this week.Thank you Wazua administration for your generosity. This will go to Samuels fees kitty and with such support I believe that Samuel will never lack fees for high school and beyond.

The Charity club was planning to visit the Rehab this weekend but we shall postpone it to next weekend(28th Aug) due to the Aug 27 public holiday.

Should you have children's clothes that you do not use you are invited to donate them to us so that we can handover them to the former street children at the Rehab center.

You can contact Leona at reggyzoe@yahoo.com or me
at mpolekabisa@gmail.com for information on where to drop any donation. You can also contact Wazua administration.

Dear Wazuans

We managed to visit Ruiru Rehab Centre on Sunday 29th 2010.

We met Samuel.Samuel is doing well.
He is still adjusting to high school life.

We encouraged him to work harder to improve his grades.

He told us that his main challenge is a study room since they do their homework in a hall Which is sometimes noisy. We advised him to be going to bed early then wake up early in the morning when other children are asleep.

We also promised him an alarm clock to overcome the early morning wakeup challenge.

He also requested for some revision books. We are now looking for good high school books to buy for him.

I would like to encourage as many Wazuans as possible to be attending such events /trips so that we can share ideas as well as give more encouraging words to our son, Samuel.

Though it may be too early, there was a suggestion that we do a Mbuzi at the Rehab with the Kids over the Christmas period and be the parents of the parentless. We just buy the Live Mbuzis and slaughter roast and cook them over there. The cost should be minimal but I believe the benefits to the children will be phenomenal.

Christ said, whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me.

We shall combine this Mbuzi with a graduation party of one of the volunteers at the Rehab who was a student at Kenyatta university ,Makau. Most of those who have attended the charity events know him and he has been doing a great job at the Centre.

Pledges for this event are welcome.

Please let us have your views on this.

Good people,

Thanks for your continued support throughout the year.May the Good Lord continue to bless you

@Charity club members, please check email and revert....

@All
The Rehab Centre we have been supporting is throwing an early Xmas party for the kids on 4th Dec 2010 and has invited us for the party. However, since they depend on donations from well wishers, they have requested that we support them with a few items to ensure that the party is sucessful and memorable to the kids.

If you can donate either:
1. Firewood
2. Snacks
3. Decoration materials
4. Anything else to spice up the party...

They will really appreciate. They have 60kids and are expecting about 200visitors

Any contribution in cash or in kind will be highly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

@leona; which centre is it? Blessed generation, formerly, Spirit of Faith?

Dear members

Welcome to this event.

It will also provide an opportunity to share with the little children and Our son Samuel after one successful year of sponsorship in high school.
Just for the information of new members , the rehab center accommodates former street children and/neglected children from abosolutely poor families or parents with disabilities (physical or mental).

The home gets support from the sorrounding communities including churches , Kingsmeal bakery, Brooksides milk, Kenyatta university & USIU students , volunteers and all people of goodwill.

You are welcome to see what these great people are doing to transform these formerly hopeless children into beneficial citizens .

We managed to go to the Rehab with Lutts and Family (wife and 2 children).

We donated a sackful of clothes, juice and biscuits to the Kids courtesy of Lutts and Family.

Samuel is well and working very hard to improve his grades this term.

Again, we saw that there is a need to get a tutor for him for extra tuition.

We requested Nana the home manager to do inquiries for a tutor around and get in touch.

The tutor will not benefit Samuel alone but also other Children in the Home who are Samuels Classmates.
Due to the competitive nature of education in kenya ,we need to put more resources and efforts to ensure that Samuel doe not only go through High School but also scores good grades which will help him have a better future.

God bless the family of Lutts , God bless you all.

For those who wanted to join us but couldn't make it there is always a next time.

Another visit is scheduled for Next month (last weekend of April 2011)

Thanks

Out of the three top perfoming candidate , two of them ,Moses -359 and Peter-321 have some sponsors who had shown interest in them.
(These were one at time their sponsors but were unable to continue with the sponsorship due to financial limitations).

Will find out how the two other boys are doing and update you .Thank you very much for raising the issue.

Young!I have responded to your querry . You are welcome.

@ all I have sent all the pending invites to the googlegroup for those who had requested to join the charity.Sorry for the delay.Been so busy.

More are welcome.

We are also inviting ideas and support on how to make the club more vibrant and beneficial to both the members and the society at large.

Members and prospective members please lets talk more often.
