Good People,

Does anyone own a Toyota Wish? Or knows someone who owns one?

I would like to know the performance of this vehicle especially if the 14km/litre quoted by toyota is about right or not.Approximately how many Kms (in Nairobi) will 1 litre take you?
The ground clearance on this vehicle is 155mm. Is that sufficient for our Kenyan roads? especially on the speed bumps? or do u have to go over the bumps diagonally?
Are there any peculiar issues (both good or bad) that you have noted on this vehicle.
This vehicle has been rated among the best (top 5) MPV in Japan and it's still in production unlike most other cars in the Kenyan market whose production already ended.

Google it up. You will get alot of info from mostly first users/Owners in japan or elsewhere.
You will know that you have arrived when money and time are not mutually exclusive "events" in you life!

Thanks XSK, but I am looking for LOCAL INFO..among KENYANS!!

So, anyone selling a 2004 Toyota Wish X or XS? I am interested in vehicles that are already in Kenya not in Japan.

well, 14km a litre is way high..im from msa and it can give u about 10-11 a litre here if ur doing highway and town combined..i guess it would give u about 7-9 in nrb, heavily considering the traffic there..
its always good to install spacers in ur car..above all, it makes u 'feel good' along with erasing the possibility of touching the irregular bumps we have in kenya...
not had any real issues as such with the car, though if u have a choice, go for the Ipsum, new model..stands out almost like a harrier from the front and is a beauty of a piece, though abt more expensive...

Thanks Captain for the info...I have been weighing both the Ipsum and Wish. The Ipsum is much better than the Wish. But, the 2400cc engine is a bit too much for commuting just to work and back, with a few trips upcountry.I assume that the Ipsum would also "drink" more fuel than the Wish. As you mentioned, its also more expensive.

7-9 ltrs per km is not bad for 1800CC engine.

if its just for work-home use and its just u or maybe 3 more ppl, then u may as well get a simple Toyota NZE or Runx/Alex..stable cars, no stress parking and u can get them on 1500cc i guess.. i drive a similar 7 seater and believe me, it looks BIG when im alone or with just 1 person on the next seat...

Thanks Capt. I never liked the NZE!!I find that even the AE100 had a better looking shape than NZE..and Runx/Allex is too expensive for a car that size. Hence why I settle for a Wish which can easily ferry my clan to coast in comfort!!
Have you added spacers in your Wish or do you find the clearance ok?
I have visited a few car sales yards and noted the available vehicles are for 2003, seems that 2004 models have not yet started arriving.

ITS safe to fit in the spacers, also gives u confidence...i have a Wish coming in most likely next month, 2004 model, white with body kit and accessories...if u can wait, we can strike a good deal i believe..
