St. Mary's School, Yala got a mean score of 8.96 and would have been ranked 59 nationally. Allegedlly, one repeating boy overperformed and his results were withheld and he got a Y, otherwise the other students have their result!!!!

KNEC's handling of exams nowadays is shambolic. If it is as independent as it claims, why are the exam results announced by the Minister for Education and not the CEO of KNEC?! Government manipulation of national exams is a disgrace.

Consider this:

"In Starehe, Knec adjusted the grades of nine candidates who sat the Music exam upwards, awarding straight As.

Initially, candidates had been awarded four B+, four B plains and a B-."

Ludicrous! Sad

KNEC explanation for not having the school graded is because one of the students got a W - meaning Withheld. The student apparently missed out a word or a digit of the index number on the exam paper.

Then a single student's bulshiet makes the whole school (and in a broader sense, the whole Luo Nyanza) suffer!

I dont know whether the Kisumu-Yala railway is still intact?d'oh!

If KNEC continues with this trend then very soon many reputable universities will start doubting the suitability of kenyan students
