I couldn't have put it better.......

nothing useful to add......

nothing useless to delete....

Ethics .....???

goes to more than policing lawyers......

look at the medical field.....

in this country....

if you are to get any tests done....

and fly to India for further medical care...

the good doctors..

tear up your huge file of reports...

for tests you have spent not less than the price of Muhoho's Passat.....

then we look at the cowboy contractors...

journalists we pay to soil the image of our opponents....

pharmacists selling chalk dust....

politicians fighting in public.....

but sleeping together....

bull fighters with strange relationships with chicken........

four principal officers asleep in their offices....

i mean...

the list is endless......

so why...

i ask...

the continued emphasis of unethical lawyers......

look at the nearest mirror ....

that's the image of an ethical person....

wewe....

pointing fingers at others.....

I'm the real Massey F.....shut your mouth
I'm the real Massey Fergu...... Shut your mouth....

Now you want 'Locust standi' the standing locust to explain what?

· abuse of litigation in various ways,including using dilatory tactics and false evidence and making frivolous arguments to the courts;
· preparation of false documentation,such as false deeds,contracts,or wills;

· deceiving clients and other persons and misappropriating property;

· procrastination in dealings with clients; and

· charging excessive fees.

@ TRS

i guess the examples you've just given don't suggest that you are pointing fingers at others....

i also hope you were standing next to a mirror as you were itemizing them....

if that is the case,what did you see?

you've heard me..

Good gentlemen,this did not have to go the way it is going.
Though both of you are right. While you will get some lawyers who are crafty in town,you will also get very honest,competent,honorable learned men and women. My understanding of asking for a good affordable lawyer is that you will find some top-notch lawyers who have made their names in the country and you can not compare them with someone who is either just starting or in the middle level of their profession. I can quote firms in each category but that would be un-ethical especially for those i percieve to be on the lower/entry/learning end(and dont take it the wrong way - am not saying they are incompetent).

For example in course of my job i require to have some documents Notarised or commissioned. if i take the document to some of the most established lawyers who are in our panel,they either charge me 2500/- or nothing at all for it(just to keep the customer). If i send it to a middle level kind of a law firm they charge me something between 1000 - 1,500 - they wont fail to charge. If i send to one of the 'young'/establishing/or old but they just do not use PR to their favour law-firms - who are not yet 'established',they charge me 500 - they too wont fail to charge and will even negotiate upwards(and am not talking of quarks(sp) or court clerks). So i believe this is what the person who was looking for an 'affordable' lawyer had in mind when asking. he was looking for the 500/- range but someone who knows his job and will do it competentely. Remember even the 2,500 range did not start there,they started low,gave excellent services,made their name to get where they are.

So good people,lets stop throwing stones at each other and give @Blackberry some useful information.

Some deals are like glass. Sometimes it's better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together.

@ wendz

that is commendable...

if your sentiment would have come a little bit earlier...

it would have saved someone's face...
