'affordable lawyer' - that's like an oxymoron,isn't it? No offence TRS smile

Legal fees are not cheap... anywhere in the world... some 3-4 years ago,we asked a recognised lawyer to give us a legal opinion on some transaction.... We had the 'format' of the legal opinion. so we sent him the opinion as drafted by the other organisation,he puts it on his letter head and signs and pap! slapped with a bill of Ksh450K! Onother one helped collect some debt and we paid a whooping US$2million as commission - well it was a huge amount owed by a gova and well,that was just a small percentage........but she was so well connected she pulled it through. Just couldnt understand....

I have come to understand that even lawyers take a great risk to take up matters and represent people. If they make a mistake,they loose not only their credibility but they can be forced to pay up the client... so when he is charging you whatever it is (its never cheap),he puts that into account... by the way,most lawyers (i dont know if its all) especially those in conveyancing they take up insurance for professional indemnity just incase something goes wrong.

Some deals are like glass. Sometimes it's better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together.

All you need is a good lawyer who shall deliver the results professionally and efficiently.You shall not feel the pinch when you pay him/her,the size of his fee note notwithstanding.

.....God decided to take the devil to court and settle their differences once and for all. When Satan heard this,he laughed and said,'And where do you think you're going to find a lawyer?'

like i said you are very many....

use of pretentious words will not help you in anyway...

what matters most is the chance to give all better services...

and that will make you a proud being...

@TRS,

Why has the LSK banned lawyers from advertising their services?

Its not that LSK just woke up one day and banned lawyers from advertising. Its the tradition of the profession not to advertise - a tradition that at some point became part of the profession's ethics - similar to doctors' ethics - that the best should prove themselves through the services they provide and not by shouting from the highest hill. We simply inherited these ethics from our colonisers. We can of course change and such change is not far off. In the US and some other countries lawyers can advertise in all sorts of media.
