They recommend an interim dividend of Kshs 2.50 per share. This is the same as the interim dividend payout in half year, last year.

How they perform in the second half will be interesting as sales may drop as a result of the alcohol laws. Ama they will counter that by raising prices? Here is a genuine and serious question to those who drink beer: Are you drinking less, as much or more beer than before with the new laws?

I do not drink any less coz of the laws since I do not drink before 5pm on weekdays [hardly drink on weekdays except at cocktails]...

On weekends, the 2pm rule is silly. It should be 11am. I enjoy a relaxed brunch or lunch. Not late lunch. And a drink with my meal is good but not having to wait till 2pm.

I wonder why EABL didn't fight this... If I were EABL, I would team with Sierra & Keroche & sponsor a candidate to run against mututho...

This would teach anyone to cross EABL's path!

Aside, why isn't the Tobacco Bill enforced as strictly? That law is virtually non-existent

If I were CEO of EABL, I have the 'power' to donate to various causes! Or support a region with projects like sorghum farming.
Now I might not manage to knock every MP out but I can influence my distributors & bar owners to OPPOSE any MP who voted for mututho's bill. The idea is to warn the rest.

In ukambani/Eastern, I (discreetly) put the word out that any constituency that kicks out their MP [who voted with mututho] gets a borehole [which they know I can deliver pap!]

In RV, I say I will support farmers who grow sorghum with fertilizers & a contract to buy ALL the sorghum.

In Nairobi... LOL... just tell the youth... more concerts at low, low entrance prices...

In NEP - who cares? I don't think EABL sells much there...

In Nyanza, just get Raila to support you... Say you will buy more alcohol from Spectre!

In Coast - just offer bottled mnazi as a new product!

In Central - This can be a battleground but even if EABL loses here, the rest can make up for it.
