LOL... The entire market is in a funk... My gut tells me that it is coz of the 'fear' that Uganda may do an Egypt... lakini museveni controls the army through & through!

@VVS this might worsen the situation in my dear country...

Museveni has his cousins, brother and even his sone as military generals and this means that he will not go down with a fight... Alot of blood may be shed as a result...

But on the other hand if there is no conflict then JUBILEE will be smiling all the way to the bank... I heard they have been insuring BILLIONS worth of property against post election violence in Uganda.

Do you think the investment bond has a hand in it too? me thinks so... especially for those who would want to be in capital & money markets but they are risk averse at the same time.

I warned you about this onslaught on KPLC from Wed. Those who heeded I'm sure made something small and can now re-buy again at a good discount.

BBI will solve it

Suddenly I am not feeling so cocky about purchasing my rights at 1.50/=. Now if only I had more money to buy at 21/=

@My2Cents - Why are you worried? If I recall, you looked at this a longer-term play. So chill...

This is when you need to read a few of Warren Buffett's writings...

- Demand climbs daily! Industrial production is up. New houses + offices all over the country.
- Lucky for us supply seems OK based on new IPPs coming online in 12-24 months. Hydropower may be a problem = higher electricity prices.
- New efficient [or better] infrastructure being developed/installed/upgraded.
- Prepaid meters seem popular. Better cashflow management
- New/cheaper loans for expansion/upgrades.

Yes, I watch the price but it does not matter for me [my core portfolio]. The profits will be good based on the economic growth in Kenya.

BTW, Buffett likes utilities in general...

hey. You dint tell us to sell, you just wondered if kplc will weather the storm. Wish u had though, been dying to play this share, but when it goes up, cant sell, i always doubt it will go lower for me to rebuy.
