Over drinks our conversation drifts towards women and we end up discussing Kenyan women and the stereotypes put forth about them.

My buddy Musa decides to tell me of the trip he took with his wife together with another couple (Maina and Wangui)to the coast. When they reach there, he noticed something peculiar about the couple. His pal was obeying every command of the wife and he wouldn't do anything that the wife hasn't approved of. In fact, he had to literally ask for permission to do stuff. This kind of slowed down the mens' coast experience as they had planned to visit various joints e.g mtwapa and other joints(strip ones)to sample the famed nightlife.
So the guys decide to go for a boys night out(nothing happened during the boys night out apart from "kula na macho") and leave the wives at the hotel. On coming back in the wee hours, they meet a fuming Wanjiku who starts insulting her husband and raining serious blows on him saying that the duo had gone to sleep around with Mombasa prostitutes. My buddy intervenes as his pal was being fixed seriously by the now hysterical woman whose wails and commotion had caused other clients of the hotel to come out of their rooms to witness the unfolding drama. The tables turned on the unsuspecting Musa who was trying to quell the drama and Wanjiku started raining blows on him complete with a kick to the groin.
Gafla bin vu, dynamics changed and Musa out of sheer fury (defending his manhood in his defense)started the full "WWE smackdown" and beat Wanjiku up so badly and she had to be admitted to hospital that same night. All this was happening as Maina, Musa's wife, Hotel management and guests were standing there. Wanjiku lost a couple of teeth and couldn't pee for a while (something to do with an injury to her bladder). Her husband sorts out the whole hospital bill.

Shockingly, Maina thanked Musa for "sorting out" his wife and confided in him that Wanjiku used to assault him when she had mood swings. He also confessed that Wanjiku apologized for all the times she fixed him saying she had underestimated him and would never beat up any man in her life again. Maina isn't a small guy physically or a coward for the matter but he never believed in beating up women. His mistake was marrying a woman from Nyeri............

Are women from Nyeri this deadly and are there any other stereotypes of Kenyan women?
