I sold a car to a lady sometime back about 2years ago. She paid a huge chunk of the money about 85% of the value of the car then vanished with the car. I still have all the documentation of the car i.e log book, transfer froms etc.. There was no written agreement but I let her take possesion. When I tried calling her up for the money, she always gave me many rediculous stories including info on how she is having a birtheday party for her kid,she is divorcing.. all unrelated nonsense... I got tired and almost forgot it till I spoted the car about a month ago about 2 a.m in the night outside a club..

Please advise on,

- what is my exposure on a car riding on my name yet I have no control
- How does she get it insured, is the cover valid?
- What is the best way to get my money, should I charge interest
- Ama niwache tu.. I just call her for the docs and forget about it ( but then how sure i'm I that she will change the transfer)

five years ago I had an accident and the car was a write off. I surrendered all the documents and I was paid and went my way. even changed jobs and my address( by then i was using my employer address) last year a former workmate calls me and tells me there are two letters in the office that looks official...... apparently the guy who bought the salvage never transferred the ownership and the vehicle had hit and killed a pedestrian. since it was having a third party insuarance and i was still the registered owner... the letters were from the lawyer enjoining me in the case. luckily I have the discharge voucher. didnt want to imagine what had happened if there was no evidence. apparently the driver was a foreigner and by then the guy had already taken of.

That is scary man!

Since you still have the documents, si you can still repossess the car? She has no proof that its hers anyway.....

Also check if maybe she somehow changed the details huko times tower (illegally) without those documentation you hold.... nowadays anything is possible.

…almost forgot it till I spotted the car about a month ago about 2 a.m in the night outside a club.. What went through your mind? Next time remember to carry the spare key…. Lady luck may come calling….Just kidding…the aftermath of four caliber 0.76cm fired at close range does will not improve your eye socket layout.

-should u charge interest ? After 2 years? Kwani Mubarak alienda uchumi ikaharibika aje? The sale agreement should have sorted this out.
