There will be a settlement. Plus there is plenty more where this came from since Kakuzi continues as an outgrower for Del Monte.

I have faith in Kakuzi but the stock is not moving and frustrating the hell out of me...

I'm lucky the position i have is way too small...

The settlement issue is too minor to cause worry from investing in the counter...

Something to ponder as you into agric stocks:Disclaimer i don't fancy agric stocks.

"A significant La Niña episode continues in the tropical Pacific Ocean, with effects extending into adjacent ocean basins. Atmospheric indicators show this episode to be one of the strongest of the last century, while oceanic indicators have been at moderate to strong levels. La Niña conditions are likely to continue through the first quarter of 2011".-World Meteorological Organization.

"A new study in the journal Climate Dynamics suggests that these months will be much drier in the future in Kenya, Ethiopia and other East African nations because of climate change. Precipitation more likely over the Indian Ocean and droughts the norm in eastern Africa according to scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey and the University of California, Santa Barbara, who studied the flow of air currents over the Indian Ocean."

I passed by Kakuzi farms last month & seems the Del Monte + Kakuzi have full dams. Not sure if it is cost effective to pump water [diesel is much pricier in 2011 vs 2010] but unlike many other (smaller) farmers, they HAVE the water for 2-3 months...

What I am saying is that unlike other smaller Tea/Pineapple producers, they may survive... with higher prices for the produce...

This is exactly what the MD of Kakuzi said on some interview with analysts from Dry Associates. He did not seem worried one bit about the drought. Lets see how this plays out. I suppose they would still post better growth than other agriculturals due to this advantage whether they incur diesel costs or not. Lets see how this plays out.Pray
