And that is the truth!!! Some firms there may not be affected as much by the chaos especially if they own significant operations OUTSIDE Egypt/Tunisia. Furthermore, if the price is discounted enough then they could be great buys... Look at Zimbabwe which had an active but volatile stockmarket even when the crap had hit the fan!

- Which local investment bank trades or has agents in Egypt?
- Marende should just stop the time wasting and abide by the clear Court Ruling yesterday. Let us see how the NSE takes the combined rulings...

Elder Sparkly,

Was something eating you yesterday? Indeed, I am not a technical analyst or perhaps, I should have stated, I am not an expert in Technical Analysis.

So what the **** am I? I am just a keen observer of markets which does not include the fine points of TA such as RSIs, Bollinger Bands, Fibonacci Retracements et al. Sure, I may have heard the terms but I do not apply them or if I do, I just don't recognise it when I do. And I bet you that the real Technical Analysts will not agree that my previous post was "an advanced lesson in Technical Analysis".

As for my marital status - Heck, who needs to know?!!

Back to the point - the bear does appear to have been held back from the look of today's trading. Let's see what tomorrow (next week) brings!

Me likes any of the stocks down more than 30% and they're many in both Egypt and Tunisia. But I can't find anywhere on how to purchase stocks directly. On NYSE the EGPT ETF is a buy. I had mentioned about this last week on the Investors Lounge thread. My least expectation when the turmoil fizzles out is an immediate 30% upside. Then the parabolic begins with another 30-40%. So I expect a 50-70% upside on this ETF by end of 2011.

Citadel Capital is also a hot buy now - http://www.forexpros.com...l-capita-advanced-chart - Select the 5D (5 days) button to view the cliff-dive selloff - down 27% so far. It is better to buy this than the RVR venture here. Btw is this RVR venture still on the table or the KE and UG govts have yet again done a goof job... NKT.

That is optimistic. If only down 30% then going back to 'par' immediately is very tough. There is long-term damage to the Egyptian economy. The social problems will NOT go away just coz mubarak has left!

- Huge population. High unemployment. And they breed like rats [For those who are offended by the last statement. Use high-quality condoms]

- Unless the USA/UK/Europe/Arabs give them huge amounts of aid, the economy will remain weak as social spending will take precedence over economic spending

- Tourism is DEAD at the moment. See how Kenya suffered during/after PEV 2008. Took us a while to get back on track. They will suffer losses for at least 1 year.

BTW, the revolt is better for Egypt in the LONG-TERM but I do not see the gains you claim by 31 Dec 2011.
