I saw a classified advert in one of last week's Nation of a guy selling on the Makongeni plots in Thika you have seen been mentioned below for 1.8M with rental income of 15K. Check it out.

45 single rooms in one 1/4 acre plot in Kiganjo?? I am yet to see that. I live in Thika and was in Kiganjo recently and did not see any thing like that. Could you give directions to the said 45-room plots so that I can check them out? Most built plots in Kiganjo follow the Makongeni Phase 4 plan as Mukiha has said with a few exceptions. To build 45-room plots you probably have to grease the Municipal planners because it is against the original plans.

It is a pity that since the early 90s there have been almost no public or private-public housing projects for low income housing and those that are there have been neglected,not only in Thika,Nairobi but all over the country.(For those who will point the Kibera project,drop in the bucket)

Hi Marty. This looks like a good idea. Did you get to build your rental units? Am considering taking up this idea. Please let me know if you know of any available plots and how much is the asking price.

@ mukiha - an issue of fact... the houses at makongeni are fetching a rent of KSh. 16,000 - 18,000...and the price is KSh. 3,250,000... let me know whether with the new numbers you want one...
