Too good to pass up! Source: The Star, Media Madness
Life is full of twists and turns and a man has to man up and take responsibility.

Eric Wainaina and his lovely wife have decided to set up a trust fund for Valerie Kimani's son. But as a prerequisite, they want a DNA test to verify the parentage of the boy.

"No Hell no!" Valerie has missed 3 appointments to have tests done.
Eric Wainaina has gone to court to compel her for parentage test to be done.

But if the interests of the baby are what matters here, what's the issue?

As a black man, Eric has every right to demand a DNA test. Us black people don't have any clear distinguishing features that can be used to tell the father of a child beyond reasonable doubt

Cheating on wifey, kids out of wedlock, DNA tests or lack of them thereof bla bla bla is none of our business. These three are not public figures per se. Their actions don't affect us one bit and I could care less what they decide to do with their lives!

@MaichBlack, good point; but no these are public figures (celebrity) who make money from performing to the public. If I remember right, even their wedding photos were given coverage to magazines (don't know if there was a fee).

But I hear you again. So I waited until the issue was posted in a daily newspaper and brought it out for debate. We all can learn something...

Let me think like a woman that i am.

This is the highest insult you can make to a woman and if she is worth her salt, she wont have her kid go through DNA even if she knows for sure the child is yours! May be that's why she has refused to have the DNA done.

The test can be done at CSI Nairobi. They used to charge approx. kshs. 35k if both parties are present and a bit higher if you only one parent's and kid's DNA/samples are available. Apparently if you are doubting you are the father of a kid, all you have to do is get a sample from the kid [hair or something] and yourself and the DNA will be done. No need to involve the mother! The test is more complex - I'm told - and that is why they charge more.

The CSI Nairobi director is on record saying that they ship the samples to Australia - I think - for testing but they were to bring the costs down once they established a lab in Kenya. I don't know if they ever did! You can Google them.

@Wendz well written. But realise this is now a legal matter, and the law would protect offspring from their imperfect parents and sentimentalities.

-Father has no choice on whether to support their child
-Court requires incontrovertible truth as to the source of progeny
-Child was sired out of wedlock

@Toxicity @MaichBlack also at Pathcare Ltd, Regal Plaza, just after Parklands, where the court orders seeks to compel parentage test to be done in this case.

CSI Nairobi is too expensive. It can be done at Lancet Kenya, a new lab on Fifth Avenue House (the pinkish house opposite Traffic Police on Ngong Rd), at around 20-25k.

@ Wendz, i think for Val to claim the baby is Eric's, she must submit to the DNA test. Matusi kando. Alternatively, she should have just kept quiet about the identity of the father and take care of the child in peace... Maybe it really was not Eric's baby on the other hand.
....above all, to stand.
