My rationale is very simple. These institutional investors and foreigners who are going to buy big, after 24th jan so that the price doesn't dip. What has been stopping them a) since the results of the rights issue was declared b) since the rights were no longer available on the market?

Betting on KPLC has left a bad taste in my mouth...

IMHO, I am a buyer at 21.75 [I like the prospects] as Kenya's economy expands.

True VVS at 21.75, I would put in any coins I have, knowing KPLC has to grow faster than Kenya's economy.

@maskana,

Given most of the buyers were institutional investors, do you expect the price to go that low when the rights are finally uploaded and start trading? I expect a temporary drop to just about 23 and then we will see demand coming in with huge supplies. There might be no merit in waiting for KPLC at 21!

will not be catching the falling knive but wait until the right moment to bounce in...sample this some mates of mine bought @27 and wonder how long they will be on red..

My friend, don't bet on it. Anything is possible just make sure your hand is not too far from the pocket coz you might be required to draw faster than Clint Eastwood.

Guys waiting for this share at 20 are doing so on a long shot. Please check the numbers on the number of people who applied for the rights issue and compare the same with the kcb rights issue. The safaricom bond has just shown us that there is high of liquidity in the mkt. We have 2 scenarios here if most of over the 4000 applicants are guys who want to make 10% returns then there is a possibilty of which is extremely slim, i bet that more than half the investors are mid to long term investors.
