where is ENORORE?? a very shenzi name for a university..

I want to believe that you dismissed 'Inorero' as shenzi from an informed position. Otherwise, if you made such an utterance out of ignorance then there is a problem with your attitude. Let me ask you a simple question -- When we talk highly of Cambridge University, what does Cambridge stand for? What does Makerere stand for? Why would you worry much about the name and not the vision or mission of the institution? Let us appreciate the risks the sponsors took on behalf of all those students who will benefit from this institution.

@spendthrift respect your opinion about some of the Universities but when I look at the list, none of those is a diploma mill.

Here is a definition of a diploma mill

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diploma_mill

or this.
http://www2.ed.gov/stude...ills/diploma-mills.html

As far as some Universities may be ranked higher than others, I have noted that success in life is not 100% related to the University you attended not even the High School

I have learned to respect individuals based o their ability and hard work.

I have seen people with lower education qualifications outperform those with higher at work, I have seen MBA's fail in business while non business students succeed. The most important thing is about you.

@Njore, I fear many prospective students will care little about vision/mission but I could be wrong...

I listened to the VC of MKU...... I seem to think its propaganda on the issue someone raised here about buying of certificates... The prof seemed like a relatively "young" no-nonsense type with a vision..... but i stand to be collected.

I think the University education is in a stage of rapid growth. It would be completely unfair to rank MKU with UON at this point where MKU does not have a charter yet and got its interim letter of authority in 2008 whereas UON has been around for over 50 years. I think that in about 5-10 years the best will rise to the top. I also think that we shall be rating degree courses rather than Universities for example, let us compare MBChB (UON) with MBChB (Moi) and see which one produces better doctors. Then it will make much sense. My view is that MBA (Strathmore) is likely to be much better than most others from other Universities (it is also the most expensive.

Universities can go ahead and sell certificates but this is a very short sighted strategy that will not sell the Uni for long.. The best will rise above the rest.

Its myopic to compare ourselves 2 fellow Kenyans @ time when globalisation is taking place, rather We shld b thinkin whether we can match up with other graduates from other countries then we can claim 2 b the best.
