Diamond Trust Bank.

This is round about the time, results for Fy 2010, should be factored in, going by histroy(of Q2, Q3 2010). Ie, ~6 wks, before announcement.

A bull run has occurred, before this, changing the dynamics in a way. P/e calculations done by several members here have shown a fair value of 190 due to doubling of eps(14) expeceted in fy 2010 results. even with a modest trailing P/e of 13 and eps of 14 (estimate). that would be a share price of 182.

After the factoring in of fy 2010 results i expect it to reach 165, and platuea again 160-155, before the next rise. This is not a buy recommendation, but a biased opinion by a shareholder.

regards, Aguy.

i'd rather err on the side of caution than ride on greed/hope concerning stocks.

@proverB you are aware the likelihood of corporate action in terms of a bonus issue from DTK is very high...

This coupled with an expected 15% growth in Q1 the price should rally over 200

Well, fair stock valuation comes from a good balance of optimists and pessimists. @proverb certainly has some point in his cautiousness.

Just wondering - for the optimist side, isnt the market already aware of all those great prospects of dtb, except perhaps a possible bonus?.

my small concern is why its not being factored immediately like in equity's case?. that might mean that if dtb is to rise to where the optimists think it should be, then this will probably be in the general scheme of bullishness across the abroad.

otherwise what kind of new surprises are we expecting? or will confirmation of the good prospects be good enough surprise?

@proverb hakuna beef.. I respect your opinions.

But DTB has a forward P/E of 8 and plans to double branch next work by 2014...

Plus it will probably announce a profit growth in 2011 on top of last years stellar performance though this will be marginal.

This might be compounded by a bonus issue

DTB doubling their eps to around 14 is no secret to the invesment community & the probability of a bonus issue to finance expansion, with this the price should be at around 190 by April though investors should be extremely cautious coz:
1. 85% of its growth is attributable to bond trading & on its core business (interest income) 15%. WIill they be able to sustain this growth?
2. The fastest growing revenue streams for banks is on mortgage financing but i've not seen DTB's blueprint on this.
