ati Sudan means Land of the Black People. Ni ukweli? Then in this case then the North should be the one to change name. Or will it be tricky coz of the Nubians? Luck is when Preparation meets Opportunity. ~ Lucius Annaeus Seneca

The republic of Cush Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.

They should call it 'The Sud'. Afterall, this is where the Nile collects. Sud meanns basin and it is the south. The North should look for another name. Although this might cause legal problems

The nyaga biot has nothing to do with a cap. Rather it is reference to the white patch of an ostrich, which is the way the mountain looked from a far. The Governor of Nyeri - 2017

@Wendz, The young man has learnt something new to day.....lol @Njung'e, the ostrich part refers to the way the mountain looks from afar. It looks like an ostrich with its white patches of snow. @Wendz, the old man will learn something too... Luck is when Preparation meets Opportunity. ~ Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Lol, we are typical wazuans, always hijacking threads. I hear your version. Could be true as well. I choose to stick to mine as told by some old kikuyu wazees. Luck is when Preparation meets Opportunity. ~ Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Wrong again. Nyaga means "bright" or "brightness" and I believe is the closest word to white in kiuk. The Governor of Nyeri - 2017
