How do you even make this Job Announcemet enticing?
Mr Micah Cheserem has resigned as chairman of the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) barely two years at the helm.
He replaced Professor Chege Waruingi who had resigned in a huff in early January.
The appointment was part of a raft of measures meant to restore investor confidence in the capital markets following a series of malpractices by rogue stockbrokers.
Action to restore investor confidence in a stock market that had plummeted by 50 per cent in six months.
The Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE) 20-Share Index had been on a downward trend since the second half of 2008 and hit a four-year low just 24 hours to Cheserem’s appointment.
Kenya is considered among the most unequal societies in the world and the gap between the rich and the poor in undoubtedly among the widest. Kenya’s lower middle and bottom class income groups constitute 80 per cent of the country’s homes, up from 73 per cent five years ago.
This means that only 20 per cent of Kenyans fall on the middle class, upper middle class and upper class segments.
This is not palgarism- Credit goes to James Anyanzwa (Standard Group).
Are we really in the right business or should we start selling chang'aa?
