I see it differently. This is how I see it. If a few people, you and me and a third, fourth person, come together and begin to work on a Strategy like the one I have suggested above we can get the message even to the last of the villagers in the furthest conner of this country.

All we need is media's goodwill especially at this time when politicians have messed them up. Unless of course if they have vested interests and are themselves not concerned about change.

Remeber a survey that was done recently? People said they trust the media more, and the media fraternity seems to like that. We are the people. We will get the media to support our initiative. They will, without cost help us to populerize the leaders that Kenyans have suggested. The media will reach the last person in the village. The media will be the best tool to influence a paradigm shift.

Believe you me,if you believe and I believe and we pray, take action right now,God will blow a wind of favour on our strategy and there's little telling of what the outcome can be.

Do you feel me?

I like your idea, with 1 exception. inviting potential leaders to lead. Thats the wrong approach, good leaders must stand up by themselves, and work hard to earn the following of the people, same way Obama did it,the same way all the great leaders have done it from time immemorial.

I would suggest you try and set up the group in Facebook, thats where you will get Kenyans from all walks.

I guess if you can't win with facts, you can always pen bile-laced,xenophobic rants to distract everyone.

This is what I like. Kenyans at last stopping the blame and doing something about it.

I offer my time designing the site. I have done this before but not at liberty to say where.

if you wish I can host you free for the next few years. Offshore of course so that these fools can't take you down.

I can do all the necessary software set up. All I need is the information and probably a few guys to help with data entry.

Talked with a few friends of mine about this yesterday. Glad to see someone else with the idea.

I don't know how to use pm's on this site. However,in case one of the 'BIG' men is watching, email me at emasaa80 at yahoo

We can start work on that immeadiatly. However, word of warning, such an undertaking will require your dedication as it is not as easy as it sounds.

@alma......thanks for offering to do the website free. If you need any assistance financially just shout.

@mkristo....good idea whose time has come.

I would however like to modify it a bit.

there is no reason at all to mobilize citizens this much with no intention to take charge. Reason being that those who take advantage of your mobilization may resort to the bad behavior of the current pigs after taking charge.

so now will you and company start mobilizing people again to remove the new set of pigs? taking charge is the key thing!!! after all, when we remove them whom do we expect to step in??

so i am proposing that the same site should announce the OBJECTIVE of forming a political vehicle with the GOAL of delivering the country from the hands of the hyenas.

This vehicle will allow only CLEAN people to vie for any leadership posts within it and only CLEAN people will be accepted and cleared for civic/parlimentary/presidential elections. and they must have progeressive record and must not be aged over.......

Reason for a political vehicle is simple.....KANU iko na wenyewe....it follows that other registered parties have owners too,the pigs and the piglets.......and they are dirty anyway,so why mix with them......and they are our problems too.....so we build our house and let them burn their's coz they will surely burn.

All the same i am with YOU.

If you have money that you expect to start using in five years,it does not belong in stocks.
When I have money, I get rid of it quickly, lest it find a way into my heart.

@mkristo,alma and kingfisher - count me in! The next revolution should be LED by the people. Online they cannot really touch us or teargas our meeetings.

Just to throw my two bits in:
1 - A manifesto -
2 - Agree on changes to the most agreeable constitution draft (bomas, wako, etc) - we do not represent parties and selfish interests. It need not be too democratic as to involve EVERYONE - that takes too long and costs too much - lets consider ourselves a 'good sample size' - if 75% of 300 people of good standing feel that one version is good, then we say that is what we will implement in the first half hour the the official sitting parliament.
3 - In the next half hour,we will 'normalise' our pay to private sector levels and accept to have it and allowances taxed.

The problem with equality is that we desire that it be with those that have more than us rather that those that have less

Also,I agree with the idea of a facebook group - the Kenya group already has a considerable number and there are Kenyans our there - studying and working who belong to other countries groups. In total I'd say more than 150,000. I'm sure it can propagate in a matter of weeks to cover all Kenyans on FB

I agree with you, that before a leader can be given leadership roles, they must have demonstrated the same. You have rightfully used Obama's example.

What I wish to clarify is that, the process of nominating on the website and finally using the same tool to cast votes for the nominees cannot happen unless people have actually identified potential leaders. And how do they identify them? An example is,I have interacted with several key people who have demonstrated leadership in other forums, not necessarily politics. Such people if given a chance can lead KENYA in a much better way than the bunch of leaders we have.

Thus by the time we're nominating them on the Website we already know who they are, what they are capable of doing and are confident that if we give them a chance they can deliver.

Our objective through this imitative is to bring them out to the fore,to popularize them, that they may be know to the Nation at large and to their own constituents, early enough so that come near General Elections we will keep out unwanted leaders.

I hope this is clear.

@ alma,

Thank you indeed for coming out and volunteering to do something. As we speak,I have people who are even willing finance the running of such a site. Yes! Quite interesting that you were thinking about this yesterday. I believe its a powerful idea that has come at the right time.

I want to see if I can dedicate an hour each day for this. I'll gather the necessary materials. Also I'll try and look for some money just to get things started. I will write you an email.

facebook is great. You can use it but you need to have it intergrated on your site. I have done that before and will do it for this idea

let me quote for you something that one of my friends had to say.

Changing the national political landscape is a tall order. But if we build on the enormous grassroots energy we saw over the past six months,we know it’s possible. For us,for our families, for our children, for our country, the stakes could hardly be higher. -Adam and Justin Ruben,January 18,2005,in an email proposing a Take Back the House campaign to MoveOn members

I have been a member of moveon for as long as I can remember and I know what people can do to change politics in a country.

It is important that you know what it is that you want to do first before even starting to do it.

I have talked to a friend of mine who's site I am working on currently and he has agreed to let me set a chat room for those who are interested so you can iron out your ideas before you even begin.

So far since i saw this post,i have secured the hosting necessary for the next 4 yrs on one of my servers. i have ideas of the domain names and already bought 4. However, since this is meant to be an example of democracy in action,I hope mkristo can organise a few core members to get the ball rolling.

Just get a few core members. On my part,I am good on internet stuff from marketing to setting up whole sites and this will not be new to me. That is why I say,it is not as easy as it sounds but it works all the time!!

writing posts on stockskenya about getting annoyed is not enough. It is time that Kenyans really understood the meaning of organising to make a change in their lives.

i know that it is a lie that we are tribal in nature. i have never seen kibaki, moi or kenyatta in my house when i cannot afford food on my table. However,i have seen my neighbour coming to help.

It is time to do this and this time,no words, just action!!
