@jmbada, Merc started mass car production ford made it better the Japanese perfected it. Though you tend to call people who copy and perfect other people's investment strategies buffoons, we await to see your picks that are not influenced by anyone!

@jmbada
Would you have made money if you followed SM moves?
It doesn't matter whether SM invests real money or not, but what he/she posted here last year was commendable. If its illogical for someone to have followed the "trades" with real money and made chums just because SM didn't invest real money, then i would rather be an idiot or illogical as you claim. NSE is a market and i assume we are there to make money, full-stop.

Positivity brothers is the Wazuan spirit¡ Lets post our views in a way that does not malign, offend or disrepect the views others have decided to share with us. We can all be able to disagree lovingly and/ or criticise constructively. Let all be respected by what value they add by virtue of their posts not just posting comments while picking quarrels, once again: let every one have his say. Happy new year wazuans.

@guru,you notice the OMCs did not put up much resistance to the controls introduced,you are looking at the price reduction in Nairobi only,you are aware the price for the same across other major towns and upcountry went up as compared to the period before the controls?,and that the petrol component makes a little contribution to the OMCs revenues as compared to diesel,kerosene,lube and lpg.Where are the prices of the latter components compared to the pre-controls period?
The products being sold now were procured before the surge in world crude prices,the prices are up for review on the 15th of every month and any such rise will be reflected in the new prices.
KKs regional expansion will reduce reliance on Kenyas operations.
I believe in the managements commitment in getting shareholders a good return on their investment and i hold the full year results will pleasantly surprise.I have 65% of my investment here and i remain confident.

No-one's actually answered my question as to whether or not a considerable grouping of investors in Kenya actually place Real Money trades based on a few anonymous parties' postings on alleged trades. I was referred to another discussion thread that provided ANECDOTAL evidence that some investors may be following online anonymous postings, but it didn't really prove anything one way or the other.
I do maintain and will never change my mind that anyone who buys / sells securities based on an anonymous posting (including my own) IS behaving like an inexperienced investort (acceptable, since we all have to start from somewhere) an idiot or a muppet / puppet (operating on someone else's whims). I will NEVER change that viewpoint and make no apologies for it.

@jmb
Well, we have been in Wazua for a long while. During this time, we have followed SM's postings and even before he started the post on playing the market live last year, he had already won our respect in his knowledge with kenyan stock market..... well, this respect he earned because trust me, if you see investor's gathered somewhere, they are not a bunch of fools.... they wont throw their money just because of one person unless they also believe its a good move.

Now, someone posted for you SM last year's tradings. If you go through them, you realise that he posted after every trade....so at the end of the year, he did not know how the market will move so its doubtful that he cooked the figures along the way to suit the outcome of the thread.... he had people watching and as you realise, wazuans just dont watch and follow sheepishly, they question, ask for rationale etc.

The decision to follow or take his advise is entirely individual based. If you cant take such advise, thats good. if you take it blindly, thats up to you. if you get ideas from the postings and do your analysis and think its a good move, great. Its entirely optional.

Wewe @jmb ni mtu fake sana... Who told you I sent you the other link for evidence that investors are following others?? I sent you there to show you that IF one had followed SM last year they would have made a lot of money REGARDLESS of whether SM place real money in the trades.. That's all..

In answer to your question above, I neither know nor care whether other investors are following some people. But I (as an individual) would take into consideration (not as gospel truth) advice from SM but not say yours or qw's for example.

Personally, i think @jmbada has a Great chance of beating @Stocksmaster, gainwise this year if through his shorting strategy.
I suggest he follows @qw and @YesYesNoChairs' buys and shorts them!

@jmbada. If you can't gain knowledge from others as you seem to imply you are in the wrong place. This a forum where 'a candle lights another one without losing anything' and its free of charge! If you want to put off ur candle after someone lights it is upon U. The final decision is yours. How can u decide whether I'll follow SM's advice or not. Just accept that some pple will see sense in u while others won't, whether u r right or wrong.

iam also deeply saddened that wazua's 'holy' thread has been turned into one of trying to convince jmb, about sm's prowess. Please go through the entire thread titled . Playing the market, a new year resolution. Before you say anything. And lets respect this thread. Please.

Then in the spirit of the thread, I suggest that he posts his trades here throughout the year then we can determine just how big a star or a kiatu he is..
