the newest african country is about to be born...we wish our brothers all the best. Has any wazuan noticed that the flag of southern sudan closely resembles that of kenya?

Bad idea? Why so? There are many countries that have Britain's Union Jack as part of their flag. I think its because S.Sudan recognizes Kenya's great role in hammering the CPA and paving way for secession from the north, plus hosting the refugees as well.

Only major issues are the R.Nile and Oil, with the latter especially. The pipelines all run through the north and the refineries are in the north as well. The North may still want to hold on to the oil rich region of Adeyi. What do you think?

the other day president al bashir sounded quite accomodating, lets hope that spirit will be carried through. Meanwhile kenyans are seeing even greater opportunities in the future - kenya comm bank is planning to open more branches..

@Jus its actually Abyei.
Am hoping Bashir might cooperate with Salva Kiir,even if to give the int. community's the message go slow on the insistence on the ICC warrant being carried out...but why oh why, is it that despite Kenya giving so much to the Sudanese they really mistreat and even murder our folk who go there to do business?

sorry, wrong choice of example.

But if you looked at flags of different countries in the world, you will find such kind of similarity and even colors. E.g Belgium & Germany, Ghana & Bolivia, Niger & India, Mexico & italy, amont many others. Some are even similar in 3 different countries like Yemen, Egypt and Syria and the Nordic/Scandinavian countries.

So I guess its not a bad idea. Its a practice that has been there. Reasons for this may be varied.

Abyei is becoming a flashpoint after being invaded by Northern troops, will this ignite a civil war for a country just about to declare independence?

See latest satellite images from Abyei from Clooney's Satellite Sentinel Project (btw, we should have this in election hot spots come 2012!)
