Some wazuan brainstorming requested on this!...Container Hotels!, u can google it. Old containers can be transformed into modules (from simple to luxurious)that people can live in.They are robust and mobile.
Do you guys think starting up a container hotel (2-3floors, 20 rooms of 21sqm each) has any potential in kenya?????.The cost of construction can be upto 30% less.

well, modules from China cost like 3-4k USD, Transport would cost like 2kusd. I think the secret lies getting local Expertise to design the modules locally after buying the Containers locally.This is probably the Most cost effective strategy.I think there is great Potential in Containers

@Rapudox, great idea. Looking at the feedback, I'm guessing we may not see your dream exactly as you envision it. Free advice is not necessarily the best advice (most of the time). I say you make your own decisions, considering that you're debating on putting money on it already..

@bendi..the container can be designed in such a way that you may not even realise its a container (check google). It may be insufficient for a luxury hotel but for a business hotel where guests stay 1-4 days, it may be interesting. As for the weather, insulation isnt a big problem.

Apparently use of containers for student accommodation is popular in France. Could be tried here too.
