And how do u drive to Capital center from the Bellevue side through the slip road at night?
Its impossible and glaring dangerous;
Its a bend and vehicles from Nyayo rounda cruise at over 160 KPH while the stretch is too short u wont have time to change lanes; the same apples to Cabanas section.

I usually park on the side, pretend to be waiting for something/someone then zoom at deafening speed with the gas lever completely on the floor, right a cross the other side.

You know you've made it when you get a parking space for your yatcht.

Tried that once...but I misjudged the speed of a lorry approaching. almost got hit... Lorry swerved away sharply. Nowadays I go all the way to the South B entrance of capital center. It is far, but safer to do so!

Every week accidents kibao! They should build a bridge. The nearest bridge is at the flyover and that is too far!

They build a bridge for who? They dont use no bridges... look at Nyayo stadium bridge. Who uses that? Even mbagathi road... Its just a waste of resources building a bridge that will never be used. That's kenyan style... over the weekend when driving in diani area we noticed there were "bridges" made for the monkeys and baboons and guess what? They also dont use them.... they cross the road anywhere else except the bridges and you have to stop for them or hit their bare behinds... I bet its a kenyan thing...

Tell me any bridge that is effectively used? Including thika road near monetary studies.... or the one at nairobi west madaraka estate....

How can guys use the "bridges" while City council is busy painting zebra crossings just under them

I am made to understand that some of these bridges are the riskiest places in Nairobi!!! You will be mugged in broad day light. You are better of taking chances elsewhere. Then some street urchins have also turned some of them into toilets!

I believe the design of the bridges should be Kenyanized. For one, they should use transparent material ndiyo hata ukiwekwa chini, watu wanaona yanayo endelea. They should also think of other ways of making them more secure - like CCTV.

Experiment of the day: @wendz - Go cross the Mbagathi one after 6:00pm and then report back here.

Very true, while crossing the flyover the thugs approach you from either end and require you to cooperate "ama tukurushe huko chini."
Of course no one would want to be dropped from such height onto a busy road

Mombasa road is fullof death traps. Getting out of Panari Sky Centre and back to town is another danger spot. With cars zooming past at speeds of more than 130kph, there always is not enough road to switch three lanes to the decelerating lane. The worst time to drive on this road is at night, on weekends and during the long holidays like Easter and Christmas when there is lean traffic.

In more positive news, I noted that since the bush which was covering the "Sharp Bend" sign at the Sunshine Sec. School/Wilson deathspot on Langata road was cleared, there hasn't been a single accident.

Another death trap lies at the end of the LAngata road dual just before the entrance to the KWS HQ. There's always confusion on which lane yields to the other and if it happens that there are two mad people on the spot simultaneously, woe unto you if you're approching from the Karen side.

For me the worst nightmare on Mombasa road is driving at Night with oncoming trucks blinding me temporarily with their glaring headlights forever on full light. Lets observe the 80 kph limit (especialy at night)

The worst culprits are trucks and matatus, ABK

Have worked and lived on mombasa road for quite a while now and have seen all manner of fatal accidents .words fail me to describe the accidents but one thing i know for sure is that its no gonna end soon.Have had my own 'close shaves' on that road. and the capital center /bellevue points are real death zones.A family of 3 perished at the bellevue crossing point late last year, after being crashed by a speeding motorist. On a very rainy night, actually, past midnight, in 2009, there was a grisly accident at sameer.A look at the wreckage would tell you no one survived, and it was raining very heavily. with no one to come to the rescue cuz of the bad weather and it was about 1.00am, no cops, those guys must have died a very painful death.I see these accidents alot of the time and more so on the Friday nights, saturday/sunday mornings.
