For Chelsea I thought their Nov & Dec troubles were over and had turned the corner, alas seems they are still on the ropes. One of the key observations is that the goals they are conceding are characterized by ball watching players including the awesome Petr Cech esp the second goal against Villa. Seems there is no more respect to Chelsea from teams in the lower rungs including an off form Villa.

Meanwhile after y'days result at St. Andrews the noise levels have calm down

The league title will to a great extend be determined by the two or three matches until the matches played become even. imagine a team having played 19 matches and the other 21. this just becomes incomparable.

It is not as difficult as you might imagine. Just do the best case - worst case scenario(s).

Example 1: Man City
Best Case Scenario: - Arsenal loses the game at hand. Man City remains at number 2.
Worst Case Scenario: Both Arsenal and Tottenham win their games at hand. Man City becomes number 3.

Example 2: Man Utd
Best Case Scenario: - Man U wins the two games at hand. Man Utd remains at number 1.
Worst Case Scenario: Man U loses the two games at hand. Man Utd remains at number 1 if Arsenal doesn't win it's game at hand and becomes number two if Arsenal wins it's game at hand.

Not that hard is it?

Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea. d'oh! Their troubles follow them into 2011. A hard won 3:3 draw against Aston Villa. Brad Friedel, Man of the Match! Applause

A measure of how bad things are for Chelsea and how they are slowly becoming irrelevant is the fact that absolutely no one said anything about the Aston Villa - Chelsea game before the match - positive or negative - and a whole 15 hours after the match only two people have posted on the same! Times are bad!

A friend of mine tells me that there is a very easy way to determine how weak a team is......Look at their result against aseno.
IF YOU EXPECT ME TO POST ANYTHING POSITIVE ABOUT ASENO, YOU MAY AS WELL SIT ON A PIN

winston, those players had their loan on 3rd Jan so they wud have played only one more game!!!!

True but, was there an intention before to have them recalled? Will see if they fit in man-u's games or are going to be loaned out again to another team.

@Maichblack...acknowledged. Topping the table. Unbeaten. Hats off.

What really ails chelsea? Are they simply finished. A shell of the past? Soon we could be reading the 'long-suffering-chelsea fans have finally got reason to smile after lampard scores a penalty in the 94minute against ipswich to scrap through 1-0 in the FA cup'

Was joking jana that Chelsea dont have a single player who can dribble past an opponet.

Cech cant seem to leave his goal post and attack balls which clearly his defenders have been caught asleep.

It seems as if the players as a group dont really care. Wont be bothered. Cant be ashamed. Simply a disgrace. They should all go home and we might as well play with the reserve team.

Now carlo was a great manager. But in this moment, he wouldnt even score a C-. When talking about the transfer window, instead of seeing it as an opportunity to get out of the rut he has placed the chelsea bus, he goes on to say that we dont need new players. My foot. We need a fresh 11. And a new coach.

One who will understand, that in the EPL some games have to grinded out. Some games require long balls. Some games require wingers. Some games require speedy gonzalezes. Some games are played to draw etc.

I am at a point beyond despair.

C & P....Birmingham Vs Arsenal

“Even if we had won the game Arsenal would have been the classier side,” McLeish conceded as his side appeared leggy, lethargic and in trouble as they slumped into the bottom three.

They were too quick, too clever, too fresh and simply too strong.
The margin of victory should have been greater and, as it stands, was the heaviest home defeat suffered by Blues for almost six years. It was a significant evening.

Man Utd fans need to realize that the other teams don't really care about their "unbeaten run" (especially Arsenal)as long as they are within range....truth be told i don't think there's any team in the league at the moment which has the quality to emulate the 2003-2004 Arsenal squad A.K.A "the invincibles".

Man Utd have a game in hand against Blackpool but they are also the only side this season which hasn't played Chelsea. Man City have also played a match more than Arsenal but that will be inconsequential if they win on Wednesday.

Unfortunately for Man Utd they'll get their shot at Chelsea in March after two or more signings have been made this January.

....did you Carlo saying that they do not need any new signings, chelshit was a good but the players have their legs tired, imagine their players who scored against Villa have a combined age of 94 years.....!!!!!

"We need to see the position of Alex. He comes back from Brazil," he said.

"I don't like to speak here about which players but we need some players."

Those were Ancelotti's comments after yesterday's match with Villa. I think they'll bring in one or two players this January especially at the back. They never replaced Carvalho when he left for Real Madrid so right now they don't have any dependable defender to deputize for Alex as he recovers from injury.

@Taz, as long as we match or better the other contenders' run, being beaten or unbeaten will mean little.

Teams I wouldn't want to end our unbeaten run [in order]

1) Arsenal.

2) Man City.

3) Chelsea.

The rest can knock themselves out!
