I think VVS might be correct on the subscription rate for KPLC rights. The way, the stock has turned round going green with no supply. Whoever promised him a drink, please be ready.

Meanwhile as people continue to debate whether the KPLC rights were under or oversubscribed, the share has just recorded a price of 25/=.

This share should be the real gem in 2011.

No supply at all. I like where this is heading.

I have no figures. Let us wait for the announcement, but indications point to fairly good uptake. The enthusiasm for the stock has been quite good and it is poised to give reasonable returns to shareholders

Thanks, I realised later you must have been referring to a trade price.

KPLC rights participation is turning out to be what I suspected......one of those rare occasions where one has an opportunity to make easy money smile

I think you mean DEMAND for 205,800 shares...

Thanks @ vvs and apologies for the anomaly!
The stock is still roving up!
Also love the way the market is closing the year, its all green. At yesterday's NSE 20 share Index at 4,396.49, we are already 35.78% higher than last years close of 3247.44!
And 2011 promises to surpass this!

not if you factor in the dynamics of dilution, that will occur when the new shares start trading in 24th jan. Either way, I've got my iron sights firmly on this one, you know what follows next.

I didn't buy the rights but got a sizable amount off the market at an average of 21.5/- meaning I'm already up 17% @25/- and I'm sure I'll get 30% @28/- when the oversubscription is announced then buy back @22/- from the expected dilution. As SM says, happy hunting!

@gesowan - And how did madam Stella allow you to trade at midnight? Freemason IPO?

LOL. Just messin with you! Or I'm I?
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Nice move there, getting the share at an average of 21.50. by the way is that including commissions or excluding them. Im planning to do the same, sell pap, when they start trading (before the dilution knows what hit it), and maybe consider buying when they get fully diluted again. This is almost evil, muhahahaha.

Ya! It feels evil.
This includes commissions because I got @btwn 21.25 and 21.75 and averaged all incl commissions. For me kplc is long term and I wanna maximise my holding. Who wants to bet against me that this counter will be trading @over 100/- in 3yrs?

@2012 - 100% over 3 years? Or 100/- in 3 years???

I can see the former as a possibility if we do not eff up in 2012 lakini even with all the right moves the latter is unlikely!

100/- in 3 years is very possible on this counter if 2012 elections go well and PLO prossecutes someone after Wako's exit (I have so much faith in him). Kplc has better growth potential over any other counter in the NSE; they're rebranding the entire org (physical & attitude); and thirdly we only have 49.9% to trade with as govt will not be trading their lot.

BBI will solve it
