I did my normal shopping over Christmas period at Turskys Imara.
At the till , every shilling counted. To a point of getting a heart attack, my change was short by 3/= then the cashier wanted to give me a sweet ati there are no coins. It was almost 9 p.m and I had left my ATM at home(I dont walk with ATMS at night).Peeping in the neighboring cashier , there were adequate coins.I advised the uncooperative cashier to get the coins from the neighbor he declined and requested me to go to the customer service just for 3 bob (which to me meant going home on foot at 10pm or getting insults from the conductor for having inadquate fare). The cashier was quite arrogant and time was running out.I did not go to the customer service but went directly to the bus stage.Luckily the fares had been lowered and what was in my pocket was enough.

Why do Tursky sell sweets to customers in pretext of shortage of coins?

Why dont they get enough coins from the bank?
Suppose It's me the customer, who was short by 3/= on a particular item , would they give me the item?

SAD Shopper Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

Next time you are shopping at Turskys demand your right change. No sweets unless you want them .

I remember one day i had to wait for at least 10 minutes as the cashier 'waited for coins' from the next attendant.Yet it felt good when i was given my 2shillings change. Why should anybody shove sweets down your throat when all you want is your dear change?

@newfarer Why complain and you are holding hundreds of the silver coins in your office desk, coin holder in your car and the tin in your kitchen? That is why there is no change in the shops.

With the volume of customers getting into tuskys....probably 10,000 shoppers daily.....if you take 1-3 bob from each it translates to 10'000 - 30'000 daily.
