I have three almost new 195/55/R15 tyres for sale. Anyone interested. This size of tyres are very hard to come by in nairobi. In december i tried to look around but could not get one,so I had to buy a whole set of tyres (195/60/R15). Now am stuck with three good tyres i don't need.

@ justrant. Whats Wrong with Singapore Cars? I have imported plenty from Both Singapore and Japan and i have not complained Yet.

The thing that Singapore Cars are inferior Quality is just a Notion if you ask me. And to add icing Sinapore cars usually have more Extras than the Japan Ones.

The only difference like in a Toyota NZE is that the Ones in Japan are local Versions and th ones in Singapore are the Export Versions. So very similar to what is sold by Toyota Kenya.

But i stand to be corrected

@dexco.. Lets start with the 'leather seats' in Singapore cars. Well, thats NOT genuine leather,so after a few months of use,the damn thing looks like a rat-attack survivor. Then the Singapore cars are of far inferior engine quality than those from Japanese. You can perhaps ask your clients how their cars are behaving, relative those of same make and model imported from Japan. Cars from Singapore look good from far,as you said, but they are far from good. They're rubbish.

What i hear is that Singapore cars are accident cars and the job they do so well that its hard to notice then they camofladge it with the extras tvs,cd changers, alloys, fake leather (plether) etc and belive me so many people fall for that. also some are actualy of a lower performance standard when it comes to the Kenyan roads......

@stra. I imported my first car in 2005,from Singapore. It was a Nissan Sunny B14. There was an offer for about USD2,700 CIF. I've been doing the business since, but not full time. The car was in terrible shape: Seats burnt with cigarette butts, steering wheel flared, engine dirty and smoking. The car was from a company called Benz Direct. A friend (well known TV presenter) bought a similar unit from Khengkeng. It had all the bells and whistles...leather seats,CD player, body kit, wood panelling etc. But after a few months of use,the car's engine was stuttering as if of an ague.... u know, that vibration especially when in slow moving traffic. Kenyan car dealers are not stupid. There is a reason why they've given the Singapore market a wide berth. Carmax was a prime importer of Singapore cars until the customers started giving them a wide berth. They've been forced to 'go Japan'. Those of us in the Khengkeng mailing list know just how cheap these singapore cars are...and they're wise to avoid them.
If @ Dexco can still sell a Toyota 100 at 450K,then he's still taking advantage of the few misinformed. So,he can still sell Singapore cars. Go Japan, get a clean unit with reasonable mileage and you wont be dissapointed.
