@lutz, there is this small co. that provides us with internet via wimx technology. i have always found them 2 be reliable since their down time is low and their price is fair. let me know if u r intrested

@Luttz reliability is indirectly proportional to subscriber base, so what you need is a relatively small ISP. I recommend Sovaya broadband. Google them

@Auka please can you elaborate on the Cost/Bandwidth analysis.
Orange are good within upcountry towns.Safaricom is best though in terms of cost:bandwidth ratio BAD...

Have to agree with @nipateOnline....so far Safcom has to be the most reliable esp coz of 3G. But lets wait for Airtel and see whahat offers thy'll have with their 3G.
