Under-suscription might be a good sign to control supply hence price jump given the under-writing.

Actually undersubscription will be good for the supply of the shares reducing its volatility. Case in scenario is safcom. At times its good for a share to be held by a few individuals, let Equity & Centum get in for the stability of the share price.

Even at the current price of 22/= KPLC is a very good deal. People could be spreading rumours to stall the advancement in price while they are still accumulating.

Either way I win... LOL... I like KPLC for its fundamentals... so an 'under-subscription' means Equity & Centum will take up the shares! And I get a FULL allocation for ALL my shares! That is always good news!

Brother, this is good news to me as am going to get full allocation of additional rights and the presence of equity and centum in the picture reduces the number of speculators. finally this is Dec and most of kenyans disposable income is being spent on xmas festivities. This implies the guys able to take the additional rights are mainly at upper middle class and this will shield the kplc share from market volatity driven by need to sell to meet basic needs in 2011.

@qw

Centum + equity + current shareholders + new share holders + shareholders who apply for additional rights = oversubscription

@gesowan. with 90% taken this leads to a 10% undersubscription. how can you term that as 'massive'.
he that was to happen EBwill have 8percent and CENTUM 2 of the unsubscribed rights.
from my estimation the news we just heard is wrong. an OVERSUBSCRIPTION is eminent here. if not in an one happy investor because i applied for far much more additional rights until my broke lauphed

What basis did D&B use to conclude that there was an undersubscription? you cannot process all that information in one day. in this it is the extra allocations that will make a big difference and not the normal allocation.
