employ a registered civil engineer and you will have the advice that you need. you will be the MD of the factory and he will be the one to be making decisions requiring professionalism. i am one but i will not throw a blanket advice here for anyone to reap.

Set up a company....get a couple of you rngineer/road builder friends together. If you have the means/ connections finance the company and become a head. Leave the actual construction job to the experts and reap the profits. SIMPLE.

You can partner with a civil engineer with experience. You will handle the administrative matters of the firm hoping you atleast have business management skills. your partner can handle the technical stuff.

i'm studying civil engineering one more year to go. My advice, get in line. I'm using the 5-4-4 plan. 5 years in university, 4 years working for a consultant and to register as a consulting engineer and 4 years working for a construction company. Then start my own construction company. In that time i should have enough contacts and experience. No short cutting

just by being an engineer does not mean you are able to build that 8-lane thika highway, even a chinese engineer! It is build by companies/enterpreneurs. PPle, get that! otherwise your status here as investors is a bit green.

Oooohhh!
I am very sorry Sir. My advice to you is

Step 1. Go back to university and learn to be a civil engineer. This can be achieved by applying through the joint admission board as a mature entry.

Step 2. 5-6 years later when you have graduated you should apply for junior position in a road construction company. You will have to do this for 3-4 years before you are fully registered as civil engineer.

Step 3. Now that you are a fully qualified civil engineer you have to rustle up the funds to acquire the equipment you need and this can easily be done by hijacking a G4S cash in transit vehicle.

Step 4. If you are not in jail and you still wish to pursue this dream of road construction well you now have the funds, experience and know how to build shoddy roads for the constituents in your area.

Congratulations you are on the path to your dream!!

Applause Applause Step 4 has just made my morning. I don't know how i missed this thread for all that time.
@Mawinder, how far are you now?
