It was apparent there was going to be something fishy right from the start. I remember asking someone to clarify at the AGM how the govt rights would be treated but he just received a so-so answer from KPLC's MD.

Daylight thievery.

Pole sana! These should have been put out there on the Board from the beginning... Not on the last day! On the other hand, why wait till the last minute? Queuing up to buy Rights at 3pm on the last day???

@guru. What difference is there between pre-planned sale of gok rights at throw away prices and those who pre-planned PEV? There is also this cheap argument that gok can do or is free to sell her rts to whomever! Why should they deny us the right to buy rts publicly so that the 'undertakers' can have them later? We need PLO to investigate.

@jerry just because an action is unethical doesn't make it illegal..

I believe what Gova did was in the best interest of current shareholders...

Selling to institutions rather than retail guys is more likely to provide stability to the price since they usually have a long term approach rather than the speculation that is rife among retail investors...

Now the rights that lapsed belong to the eligible shareholders first and then centum and equity are next in line...

Either way.. Rights will be oversubscribed..

Look here guys i personally as a shareholder would not like to have seen the shareholder list jump from 7 thousand to 50 thousand just because the rights issue was available to every tom dick and harry...

Gova made the perfect move that was expected of them by current shareholders because now their rights are available to us and the rest untaken to only centum and equity... Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

are we sure its some institutions or some big fishes? I believe that rather than give stability, they will make the share more volatile...I believe they are waiting to cash in at 20-30% gains...so there will be very heavy supply at this levels that will keep the rise of this watered down stock in check.
The utimate goal of investing is to buy low sell high;if we re-write this core equation in psychology terms it becomes buy fear sell greed.

I believe they were sold to institutions with a long term strategy who know that

By 2014 there is a target output of 2,500MW

And by 2025 15,000MW

If current output of 1,100 MW yields 39billion revenues i wonder what the above targets will produce.

Are the shareholders allowed to transfer their rights till 22 dec.If its allowed then there must be a black market somewhere where people are transferring their rights at a premium.

Well @sheep in 2000 we were under M.O.1 and there was no new constitution... 2014 is near so we'll be able to judge soon enough.
