72'
Man United penalty!

72'
Clichy has handballed the ball in the box. Very, very harsh.

73'
Rooney's missed!

73'
Wayne Rooney blasted that high over the bar and justice is done. Nani kicked the ball straight into Clichy's hand as he was already on the ground. Should never have been a penalty in the first place.

I don't know about the other Arsenal fans but I'm really not disappointed with our current position in the league....Chelsea's failure to beat Spurs on Sunday reduced the pressure on Arsenal to win last night. My main issue with our performance is that we were very cautious in the first half, all the players were sticking to their positions...there was no urgency in our play. I can't really say we were harassed by Man Utd, they only used the flanks where Clichy was being caught out of position several times. Our Keeper was fantastic apart from Park's header which caught him out of position.

On the penalty, i think it was very harsh because there was no intention from Clichy to handle the ball and thank God justice was served immediately thanks to Rooney's "conversion". Next weekend we will be back at the summit.

@Maichblack.....I don't think I've ever seen Arsenal playing for a draw. Its always all or nothing.

SAF's tactics yesterday of crowding the midfield and ensuring Arsenal could only play with the ball outside of Man Utd's D area proved the winning formula...our defence looked very strong and if the back four remain healthy during the course then I really fancy our chances.

@Taz, the reason why Arsenal fail to win the title is because they're unable to beat the big 2 (Man Utd & Chelsea) for the past few seasons. This seems unlikely to change this season. At least you're favourites for the Carling cup.

You need more physical players like the days of Keown, Viera, Sol and the like. Clichy's and Sagna's will not win titles for you.

Still early days though but yesterday's match was an effective workmanlike display by Man Utd. Credit to the goalkeeper with the unpronounceable name for having a good game.

I agree the penalty was ball to hand and shouldn't have been given...first time I've seen Rooney miss a penalty in a long time.
