Visit the Kenya ICT Board website on www.ict.go.ke.

Students can register on www.wezesha.co.ke and also learn more about the project.

Just seen the site. First it was digital content grants, then surveys on Kenyan online habits, just after digital villages and virtual courts. Now all students get a subsidized laptop...

Is it just me or is this ICT board doing a lot of good hard work?

they most certainly are. Lets also not forget the PS in Infocomm - Dr Ndemo. If we were to rank all ministries KPI's - that ministry would scoop gold.

All the things you mention will slowly click into place and synergies created from 2011 onwards...

are they laptops? i dont like the idea of hyping 'notepads' in the name of computers when their hard drive memory equals my RAM (8GB)
African parents don't know how to say sorry.. the closest you will get to a sorry is a 'have you eaten'

what you pay for is what you get. So if you want a netbook, it costs less. Just log in to the website and you will see the bargains.
