...looking for a basic but quality microscope for a young person...where to get one? What kind of prices?

Its just for an 11 year old who is keen on science - not looking for anything too expensive though - just a basic thing to look at all sorts of samples (hair, skin, blood, vegetation, dirty water, insects, etc etc) - and start getting an idea about cells and micro-organisms, etc

If its binocular I think that would be better than peering with one eye.

If I can also have some ball park figures to aim for...

BTW I see your recent posts are about selling all sorts of unrelated stuff (laptops, cars, DVDs etc))...not meaning to be blunt, but if I am to make this investment, it must be based on a source that is somewhat savvy with things to do with microscopes - including a lab technician...

Its OK. I got one. For under US$ 100 - three objectives and two eye pieces, and with decent magnification for the purpose intended.
