I looked at someone else's... The minimum of 20.6mn was too high for me!

Ask SIB or go to I&M at 2nd Avenue Ngong. BTW, it's by 'invitation only' coz of CMA rules...

They are OK. What happens is that CMA does not control Private Placements but there are restrictions...

1) Max of 99 shareholders (Company Act to be considered a Private Firm) thus I&M wants 2.4bn BUT can only accept LARGE 'investors' who can put a minimum of 20mn each. [Minimum so some will invest KES 200mn, etc]

2) The 'invitation only' means the 'average mwananchi' is not allowed by CMA to invest. I disagree with CMA lakini mta do? [The theory is that you & I with less than 20mn are not as smart as QIIs or HNWIs]

I thought it closes kesho... Not that it matters to me... I am no sonko...

Considering how many firms have been (easily) able to raise funds, I believe I&M Bank will probably raise the KES 2-2.4bn they want with little hassle...
