This service will be a game changer in stocks trading in this country.

Brokerages/investment banks that deal with fund managers; high net worth traders etc should have assembled a team to replicate the CFC Stanbic online trading like yesterday. Hope someone in management is reading this at Kestrel Capital.

I have looked at the demo on their website and am impressed although the demo does not capture the purchase/ sell component.

Any person who can explain how this works.......is it like the Wazua Fantasy model where you actually place an order directly onto the market (this time the real market)and the funds are directly transfered from your account in real time...........?

Happy hunting

@VVS, I'm a little confused here. I have used the green cfc site to make buy/sell orders and view statements as well as get portfolio valuations for the last 2weeks.Are people talking about that portal or another one? And is there anyone who can make sell/buy orders directly to NSE?

I doubt SA doesn't have online share trading. According to the article I read (bdafrica), about one third of the trades are through ATS

someone confirm whether this does away with T+4, as in can u buy like leo n sell kesho(assuming kesho's a working day)?

These hacks hardly ever get their facts right. SA has definitely been having online share trading before Kenya. All the big brokerages such as Absa, Standard Bank etc and even smaller ones such as Imara offer this service. I have used the service and it works very well. Note that you can not be paid immediately as payments still go through a clearance period. However, you can buy and sell almost immediately after.

As far as I am aware CFC Stanbic is not in control of the settlement/clearance of traded shares which is within the purview of CDSC/NSE. I would not therefore expect the settlement period of T+4 to change.

Reading the story on BD, there was a suggestion it would reduce to T+2 - I wonder how and I suspect it could be a case of misreporting, until I see a statement from CSFS Stanbic themselves. I am aware that CFC Stanbic is the clearing bank for the NSE/most brokers so maybe that's where the advantage may arise.

All the same this is a sweet innovation that other brokers need to emulate!!!

Can you all people get serious !!!!!!!!!!! For real. This site ISNOT even secure.Surely a huge company like CfcFinancial cannot consider SSL encryption. Here's the login url for the Sfc Financial online trading : http://www.csfs.co.ke/ActiveLite/ .
As you can see there's not letter S on the http part of the url and this shows that your login credentials are goin through the internet unsecurely.
I have raised this issue time and time again and it has fallen on deaf ears.

THIS IS A WARNING .Please DONOT use CfcFinancial for online stock trading.

Sooo true, an IT friend of mine told me the same. I wonder why most Kenyan websites overlook this. I highly doubt anyone in the west will dare transact business on a site thats not https!
