@guru do you think there will be need to apply for extra rights or just get them at the market @ a premium.
and now that the share is trading at around 30 bob at what premium will the rights be going for?

I am not applying for additional rights because that will probably be impossible to get.... There's a lot of big money waiting for these rights so I don't know how the thing will be under subscribed... but if it is, there already institutions waiting to pounce so how will you get in...

I'm planning to buy the rights off the market at a max 4 bob premium as @Ag pointed out which will bring my total average to about 17.5bob then wait for 2015 for the pot full of gold smile

@wiztec you are forgetting to add my huge holdings that I am using to get the rights which I got at 14-15 that's what brings my average down to 17.5

I think you should go ahead and apply for additional rights. You may not get what you may apply for, but you will get some few extra. You never know institutional dont like tying their money, so they may not apply for as much as you may think

@PKoli for a shareholder to get additional rights it means that another shareholder has chosen t take zero action on his/her rights...(Meaning she neither sells nor buys the rights)...

How many people do you know owning K.P.L.C would choose to take no action on their rights???

those who have odd shares and hence are unable to sell. from the register there are many people with 47 or 99 shares pre split.

I didnt know that foreign investors are "barred" from buying KPLC or are you only happy when foreigners create a demand thus pushing prices up?

And this is a rights issue for crying out loud, not a public offer!

please note..i'm talking about KPLC..not the rights please. and my point has nothing to do with foreigner capacity to buy or not to.

Foreigners can still participate in the Rights issue even if they aren't s/holders. All they need to do is buy the rights from the market!
Personally, this is welcome news to me as it will increase demand and hence the price going forward!

KPLC is selling at 29.75 - 30 in large volumes... 210,000+ shares traded & seems all local trading... [Or no net foreigners buying]

KPLC will release the IM kesho so foreign buyers want in but not without the IM. Funds have rules & can't invest ovyo ovyo.

Anyway, the 'problem' is that competition for Rights will heat up coz they trade starting 1 Dec...
