There has been a very sickening trend going on in Kenya, and i often wonder what can we as Kenyans do to change the status quo..

Not a day will pass before we hear in the news of a child being physically, sexually and emotionally abused by a father, mother, uncle, close relative, neighbour etc. what about those we never hear about, those cases that are never reported, what about those cases handled within the family to prevent family shame etc.

What can we do?????

@ Swanky,
This is an issue i am very passionate about.....I think is is sickening for a full adult to abuse a child in any way. It is Sad and calls for prayers Pray

First, let us raise our own children well. Aiyenfunzwa na mama (au baba) yake, atafunzwa na dunia. We need to recognize that TV's cant bring up children and that we need to be actively involved.

Secondly, do not hide a child abuser. Mulika yeye. Especially if they are our relatives. There are even numbers you can call now if you do not want to be victimized for pointing out an abuser.

Then be the right example to the children. If they see you beating each other up, they will grow up thinking thats the only way problmes are solved.
....above all, to stand.

What ever happened to Father Kizito? Alimulikwa so bright mpaka he could be seen from the moon. But stopping child abuse is clearly NOT a priority for the government. Recent reports indicate that Kenya is one of the booming child sex tourism hotspots. In a decade, we will be like Thailand and Brazil. Mungu saidia!
