Wacha upusi. You are the cow boy contractors who messed us up during moi time. No skills, experience and you want to be a road contractor.

Let the chinese build the roads while you can make loads of money selling food to their workers and providing airports for workers to spend on. Hell you can even start keg pubs in the camps.

Oooohhh!
I am very sorry Sir. My advice to you is

Step 1. Go back to university and learn to be a civil engineer. This can be achieved by applying through the joint admission board as a mature entry.

Step 2. 5-6 years later when you have graduated you should apply for junior position in a road construction company. You will have to do this for 3-4 years before you are fully registered as civil engineer.

Step 3. Now that you are a fully qualified civil engineer you have to rustle up the funds to acquire the equipment you need and this can easily be done by hijacking a G4S cash in transit vehicle.

Step 4. If you are not in jail and you still wish to pursue this dream of road construction well you now have the funds, experience and know how to build shoddy roads for the constituents in your area.

Congratulations you are on the path to your dream!!

Am speechless! Really. You got no experience and no qualification and expect to build our roads!?!

The member is an entrepreneur not a casual road builder. Anybody can invest in any sector so long as they align themselves with professionals in that sector..we should not dismiss him outright. What if he is capable of hiring civil engineers with 15 years experience?

Am very dissapointed with the ignorance of some wazuans. Civil engineers do not build roads. Roads are built by contractors who are basically entrepreneurs who hire the necessary personell to do the actual building.

@Mawinder, I admire u since I'd also like to follow that path. I guess u jst have to register a co. then get the necessary approvals from the ministries concerned. U may also need a tax compliance certificate from KRA for some projects. Jst my thots.
Conventional thinkers waste time building shelters when they are unnecessary and then have no shelters when they need them the most. Socionomists do the opposite.

@ Mawinder, you need to get the approvals from the ministry of works, ofcourse after registering a company. For tax compliance its for majority of the contracts....Give Caesar what is due to Caesar.. after that you need to market your self/ build a rapport with consulting engineers to be invited for tenders. (this doesnt mean you offer bribes)

And please use professionals to run your company once its up and running, to avoid some of the comments above and to ensure you also maximise your returns..

Well I guess doctors don't treat patients hospitals do, Nurses observe as patients get better in hospitals.

Well I hope if you ever need surgery I hope your ambitious accountant who has always harboured dreams of making money through surgery cuts you up and mistakes your brain for an appendix then you will think twice about encouraging unprofessionals from performing what is clearly very technical work!
