Hi guys,
I have just voted for Mr. Evans Wadongo a 24yr old Kenyan for the CNN hero of the year award on the CNN site ( here -

http://goo.gl/pGbgH ). I particularly relate to his MwangazaBora Innovation because I hate the smell of kerosen lamps.
Now I have seen and bought other solar lamps (made in china I think) and am not sure what is the most unique aspect of the innovation (patent wise). However, for Evans to be a finalist of the CNN heroes thing, there must be some economic potential around the innovation. There are obvious carbon credit potentials, natural resource (solar) advantage, etc.
What do wazuans think about the profitability of such a venture. Shouldn't Kenyans invest in it both from the consumer and business end??
I also think those Kenyans on twitter could help popularise the innovation using the hashtag #MwangaBora
