Honestly? Not really...

You: Best in your team - Me: Hasn't gotten me much
You: U have a job - Me: I hate my job
You: U are hardworking - Me: It hasnt gotten me anywhere...or a new job

@Cool Jama, just facts:

1. Your post in a few minutes already has many replies. Wazua is a family of many - people care.

2. Sadness affects us all. Depression is a medical condition and affects the best of us - get help.

3. There are at least 5 people right now, who have no job, don't have your skill or natural talent, didn't have money to go to college, and lost a close one this year. Yet they think they are blessed - life is tough but they are tougher.

4. You need to rediscover your inner spirit, your passion for life! No child, in all their innocence, would say "I am anything but cool and I am a failure". I agree with @leona, Joel Osteen would be an inspiration, or a priest, or a mentor, or a book...

5. If there was an employment opportunity that offered you lower pay for something you are passionate about - take it, by all means take it!

When you take your walk, out of the office to just go somewhere, take a moment, look around and try see the sadness around you - reach out and help someone. Then take another moment, and a deep breath, and see the beauty around you.

@Muganda

Thanks. I work in corporate sales at an IT firm though I've always wanted to be a teacher...after reading this, I doubt any of you would want me around your kids tho! My problem or question is this...how do I 'rediscover my inner spirit & passion for life'....something practical I could do...if u told me that drinking a glass of hot water and running around the house three times worked for u I swear I would do it. I just want something to bridge the gap between just believing and actually getting there. I really want to be better!

My friend, most people live fake lives to either please other people or amass wealth and are more depressed that you'll ever be. Here's a link to a sermon I heard last week that you might enjoy. Put God first for he knows why he created you and never forget that everyone has a purpose and should fulfill in the short stay on this earth.

The Joyof Simplicity

BBI will solve it

@Cool Jama, don't you see you are already doing it! You are reaching out.

I was once told that if a doctor knows your ailment, you are already 50% cured. You know your issue, so take some of the steps suggested by Wazuans and you are on your way there.

Please take some time to listen to Joel Osteen as suggested by @Leona:
Some Links, take a moment right now:
#476 -Overcoming Discouragement
#480 - Recognizing What You Have

#447r - Have a Good Opinion of Yourself
#454r - Living Life Happy

I dont have a father figure in my life so I dont know how to man up or be a man. That explains part of the reason why Im downright scared of women also, Ive tried to change but Ive been this way for 16 years ...since i was a teenager. Being a man is all about making decisions, im very poor at that obviously and i'm socially awkward. How do I become a real man?

Start by getting laid.

McReggae, I think u're mistaken. I'm headed to a bookshop in about 20 minutes to pick up that book requested. I'm also looking at those sermons posted. So yes, Im learning.....Im still here and not being scraped off a pavement somewhere so I guess that counts for something.

The only reason I'm asking for more "practical" tips is because I'ma doer and also,I want a quiver full of arrows so to speak. Many thanks.
